This Supervisory Health Specialist position is with National Institutes of Health (Department of Health and Human Services) in Phoenix, AZ. This position is located in the Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO), Office of the Director (OD), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Key duties: • As a Supervisory Health Specialist, your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Provide operational leadership and support for the coordination of the overall NIAID global research effort. Provide scientific expertise to the Executive Services staff in support of designated programs and initiatives. Oversee the development and administering of institute policies and procedures for scientific business and programs. Serve as liaison to NIH offices on issues related to intramural and extramural research programs. Enhance NIAID's strategic position in related to biomedical research. Qualifications: To qualify for the Supervisory Health Specialist GS-601, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education Requirement: You must possess a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. AND Additional Qualifications: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning and implementing scientific research programs and initiatives; analyzing and interpreting Federal and agency regulatory and policy guidance affecting the appointment, compensation, or management of intramural and extramural biomedical or clinical research personnel (such as under Title 42 or Title 38 authorities): advising on policies and processes related to scientific peer review procedures for special appointing authorities and pay mechanisms; developing reports, analyses, and recommendations addressing personnel or workforce issues affecting the planning, conduct, or administration of biomedical or clinical research programs; and supporting scientific and administrative activities associated with federally funded research programs. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
