This Cook position is with Indian Health Service (Department of Health and Human Services) in Sacaton, AZ.
This position is located at the Desert Visions Youth Wellness Center in Sacaton, AZ. The cook is responsible for performing a wide variety of food services and cooking functions including food preparation, sanitation, and service duties. Additionally, prepares items for regular and modified diets and identifies foods to be served on commonly prescribed diets. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Key duties:
• Prepare quantity cooking (i.e., prepares larger quantities of food than in short-order cooking or in home or family cooking) for groups of people in institutions, such as schools, hospitals or cafeterias. Perform a wide variety of food services including food preparation, sanitation, and service duties. Prepare food for regular and modified diets (i.e., low sodium, diabetic, etc.) and identifies foods to be served on commonly prescribed diets. Set up and serve cafeteria lines and tray lines with hot and cold food items. Work requires continual standing and walking, lifting and moving weighted objects.
Qualifications:

WAGE GRADE STATEMENT Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Federal Wage System (FWS) Job Grading Standards. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continual standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling is required. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
