Director, MD/PhD Program (Tenure Track) (MD/PhD), Department of Basic Medical Sciences (COM-P)

This Director, MD/PhD Program (Tenure Track) (MD/PhD), Department of Basic Medical Sciences (COM-P) position is with University of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. Provide administrative oversight, growth strategies and assessment for the MD/PhD Program. Responsible for oversight of the MD/PhD students. Provide mentorship for all MD/PhD students. Organize, develop and participate in MD/PhD Program meetings to establish policies and procedures, assessment and evaluation systems, academic progress tracking and integration across key components of the MD program. Promote the program by participating in public presentations and conducting outreach to potential students. Work effectively with the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to review applications, interview applicants, arrange second look visits and prepare recommendations for acceptance. Lead efforts to update communication and websites related to the program. Work closely with the College of Medicine – Phoenix leadership to ensure smooth transitions between the MD and PhD segments of the program and timely completion of graduation requirements. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to health sciences and clinical education. Demonstrated experience working effectively with a range of communities, building professional relationships, and adapting communication and engagement approaches to meet varying needs.
