This Engineering Technician (Civil) position is with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Department of the Army) in Fort Huachuca, AZ. Recruitment or Relocation incentive not authorized. Key duties: • Works under the direct supervision of the Chief. Receives assignments with a general indication of objectives, time limitations and priorities that requires coordination of several parts, each requiring independent analysis and solution. • Performs recurring assignments in accordance with standard office procedures. • Work requires contact with various professionals, customers, and Contractors in the construction of various military, civil works, and support for others. • Work is reviewed upon completion for technical adequacy, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and timeliness. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) contract administration duties to include preparing change requests and construction cost estimates; 2) field engineering duties to include performing Quality Assurance (QA) field representative duties and providing advice to field personnel on scheduling requirements; and 3) reviewing contractors' proposals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
