This ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN position is with Bureau of Reclamation (Department of the Interior) in Davis Dam, AZ.
You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with Bureau of Reclamation.
Key duties:
• The Engineering Technician serves as the primary source for computer-aided design (CAD) for the LowerColorado Dams Office, Davis Dam Division, and is responsible for reviewing designs for compliance withcurrent industry practices and ensures designs fit field conditions. Duties include: Develops, prepares, and/or reviews plans, specifications, and cost estimates for construction and/orproposed/ongoing projects. Reviews designs for compliance with current industry practices and ensures designs fit fieldconditions; suggests modifications when issues are identified. Utilizes automated engineering drafting and design systems and applications. Uses a variety of contracting processes to provide engineering oversight for construction, architecture,or engineering contracts. Validates data used for and loaded into electronic/automated design and records managementapplications. Provides technical oversight in ensuring data integrity.
Qualifications:
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement - 10/02/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Competitive candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the work schedule requirement as the service dates will be reflected. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: To qualify at the GS-08, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level: 1) creating packages and drawing sets utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software with accuracy and attention to detail; 2) surveying and construction cost estimating of materials AND 3) inspecting contractors work. Must meet all.
