This Field Unit Local (FUL) Maintenance Worker position is with National Park Service (Department of the Interior) in Camp Verde, AZ.
You will serve as a Field Unit Local (FUL) Maintenance Worker for Montezuma Castle National Monument Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 25 pay periods , and you will be in a non-pay status 1 pay period in June.
Key duties:
• The major duties of the Maintenance Worker include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs general maintenance and repairs involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, roofing, electrical systems, concrete, and masonry. Duties include constructing and repairing building components, maintaining historic structures, applying finishes, replacing fixtures and pipes, repairing roofs, preparing concrete and masonry surfaces, and using trade-specific hand and power tools. Carries out custodial, grounds, trail, road, and erosion-control work, including cleaning facilities, removing debris and snow, transporting materials, maintaining drainage systems, repairing pavement, and assisting with landscape and infrastructure projects. Operates and maintains cars, trucks, vans, forklifts, and other equipment used to transport supplies and materials. May also perform basic vehicle repairs, welding, equipment painting, and assist higher-grade employees with utility-system maintenance. Work is completed according to written or oral instructions and is reviewed during and after completion.
