This Laborer (Seasonal) position is with National Park Service (Department of the Interior) in Camp Verde, AZ.
The primary purpose of the Laborer is to perform recurring laboring work involving grounds, trails, roads, facilities, and developed areas, including moving materials and supplies, operating tools and equipment, and performing basic maintenance and groundskeeping duties. Anticipated Entry on Duty: March - July 2027 Open to the first 250 applicants or until 10/12/2026 whichever comes first. Key duties:
• Some of the Laborer Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Digging ditches and trenches with picks and shovels where soil is hard and compact and must be graded or sloped. Breaking up pavement, soil, or concrete; mixing and pouring concrete, asphalt, and hot/cold mix; filling and leveling holes in damaged roads. Cutting heavy trees with an ax or chainsaw, stacking heavy logs, lumber, and sacks of cement. Moving furniture; removing and setting signs; painting picnic tables and signs; raking and watering lawns; trimming trees and shrubbery; picking up litter; cleaning fire pits, etc. Loading and unloading supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies. Moving heavy items using wheelbarrows and hand trucks. Maintaining buildings, grounds, road, and trails by operating heavy power equipment and hand tools such as lawn mowers, portable snow blowers, shovels, rakes, lawn edging equipment, tar pots, culvert steamers, brush chippers, power compactors, power saws, chainsaws, rock bars, picks, axes, crosscut saws, single-jack hammers, etc. Cleaning and maintaining equipment. Performing janitorial duties for buildings. Operating light duty motor vehicles such as pickup trucks, sedans, flatbed trucks, etc.
