Lead Investigative Analyst

This Lead Investigative Analyst position is with U.S. Marshals Service (Department of Justice) in Phoenix, AZ. District of Arizona - Phoenix, AZ The selectee of this position serves as a Lead Investigative Analyst. You will be responsible for leading a team of Investigative Analysts. Duties include coaching, teaching, and mentoring a team of Investigative Analyst in gathering, researching and analyzing a variety of intelligence data; evaluating, processing, coordinating, and monitoring a variety of warrants, criminal and civil documents; and identifying and resolving problems. Key duties: • As a Lead Investigative Analyst at the GS-1805- 11 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Independently gathering, researching, and analyzing various types of data from federal, state, local and public agencies and developing reports on a variety of investigative intelligence information to support ongoing investigations. Providing administrative support and assistance to USMS Criminal Investigators in accomplishing activities for their assigned warrant cases. Monitoring court orders to ensure that deadlines are met. Maintaining prisoner files and records. Ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Qualifications: GS-11 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-1805-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: At least one year (52 weeks) of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal service performing duties which includes: 1) gathering and analyzing various types of criminal data from Federal, state, local or public agencies; 2) monitoring, evaluating and coordinating a variety of warrants and/or court orders (i.e., for escape prisoners, parole and probation violations, bond defaults, judge's rulings, etc.); 3) utilizing a variety of law enforcement related databases to obtain, monitor and update appropriate information for investigations, warrants, prisoner data, etc.; AND 4) assessing team effectiveness and making recommendations to improve efficacy of work products. (NOTE: Your resume must CLEARLY support this experience) OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position.
