Materials Handler

This Materials Handler position is with Indian Health Service (Department of Health and Human Services) in Tsaile, AZ. This position is located at the Chinle Service Unit, Tsaile Health Center, General Services Department, Tsaile, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to provide support services for the health center through management, inventory, utilization, and maintenance of inventory and stock control of supplies, equipment, GSA vehicles, and mail services essential to providing direct health care delivery. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Key duties: • Receives, unloads, inspects, and distributes incoming shipments and supplies. Maintains property accountability by tagging, assembling, storing, and disposing of equipment. Processes and distributes incoming and outgoing official mail, maintaining required records. Operates government vehicles to safely transport equipment, supplies, and materials. Maintains accurate inventory records and ensures the secure handling of government property and mail. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Federal Wage System (FWS) Job Grading Standards. Physical Effort: The majority of the work requires bending, lifting, carrying, walking, standing and frequent stretching, reaching and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment that weight up to 70 pounds. Must be able to safely utilize all material handling equipment. Working Conditions: The majority of work is performed inside the warehouse, hospital, and clinic settings, in storage areas, receiving dn shipping dock. Occasionally some work maybe performed outside in good and inclement weather. The work environment involves norma risks and discomforts of office/warehouse operations where it could be hot, cold and dusty. Is frequently exposed to the possibilities of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls from ladders or other material handling equipment.
