This Materials Handler I (Driver) position is with University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.
Stocks warehouse with products from outside vendors and returns from units. Ensures proper rotation of products based on receipt or expiration dates. Fills orders based on requests. Communicates shortages, out-of-stock items, mis-picks, and other inventory issues to the buyer. Informs the buyer of mistakes and shortages. Checks the quality of products received and inspects produce. Checks invoices against receiving sheets. Dates all products. Places items on carts. Delivers orders to units in a timely manner according to schedule. Delivers direct-ship products. Receives and returns items not in food service. Puts produce away and takes daily inventory. Informs units if their orders are incorrect. Obtains cover sheets from the buyer. Retrieves computer-generated cover sheets. Checks invoices against cover sheets. Takes paperwork to the office upon completion. Opens and closes the receiving area. Orders items through the buyer and provides daily stock levels. Cleans the dock and receiving area. Greets and serves customers in a friendly, courteous manner. Provides suggestions and input to the supervisor. Actively solves problems whenever possible. Works harmoniously with coworkers. Additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of automated or computerized system operations. Knowledge of safety practices. Knowledge of proper handling and storage of perishable products. Skill in operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment. Physical Requirement: Ability to occasionally transport or move up to 60 lbs.
