Outreach and Education Specialist, Lead (ETE)

This Outreach and Education Specialist, Lead (ETE) position is with University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Outreach Event Leadership and Coordination Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the GCE Student Symposium, including establishing goals, developing the project plan and schedule, coordinating student presenters and reviewers, overseeing communications and event materials, managing logistics, and leading event implementation. Coordinate assigned components of other GCE outreach initiatives, including Mines for Limitless Minds. Identify opportunities to improve existing programs and develop new outreach activities responsive to student, industry, and community needs. Professional Development and Course Development Lead and coordinate professional development course builds from content collection through publication in collaboration with GCE staff and subject-matter experts. Apply technical mining knowledge to review course content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and instructional effectiveness; develop and review quiz questions and other learning activities; and identify areas requiring clarification or revision. Work closely with GCE staff and subject-matter experts to organize materials, track deliverables, coordinate revisions, and support the publication of high-quality course content. Provide recommendations to enhance course organization, accessibility, learner engagement, and overall learner experience, while supporting the continuous improvement of professional development offerings. Translation Coordination and Technical Review Guide and coordinate student translators working on professional development course materials, captions, presentations, and related content. Review English- and Spanish-language materials for technical accuracy, clarity, terminology, and consistency; provide feedback; and maintain translation standards and workflows. Program Documentation and Evaluation Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, trackers, participant records, and other documentation. Coordinate with students, faculty, staff, industry representatives, volunteers, and external partners. Collect and evaluate participant and stakeholder feedback, monitor progress toward program objectives, prepare program summaries, and recommend improvements to outreach and professional development initiatives.
