This Part-Time Medical Assistant - HemOnc Ambulatory Infusion Center position is with Phoenix Children's in Phoenix, AZ. Posting Note: Part-Time Medical Assistant (MA) – 0.5 FTE Position: Medical Assistant (MA) FTE: 0.5 FTE Primary Location: Phoenix - Thomas Campus Schedule: Five (5) eight-hour shifts per pay period Schedule & Scheduling Process Typical scheduling consists of: Three shifts one week and two shifts the following week, or vice versa. Employees self-select available shifts on a first-come, first-served basis. Position Overview The 0.5 FTE Medical Assistant position will rotate between the Clinic and Infusion Center, providing support in both settings based on scheduling and operational needs. Shift Times Clinic Approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Or 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Infusion Center Approximately 6:45 AM–4:30 PM (extended shift) Required Qualifications Certifications Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) is required within 90 days of employment to remain in the position. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Professionals from the American Heart Association is required. Education Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP, ABHES, or another school approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Medical Assistant certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) may be accepted in lieu of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Position Summary This is a 0.5 FTE position requiring five (5) eight-hour shifts per pay period. The Medical Assistant will rotate between the Clinic and Infusion Center and should be comfortable working in both settings. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong patient-care skills, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both routine clinic and fast-paced infusion environments. This role works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for the assigned area. The Medical Assistant is expected to carry out the mission, vision, and values of Phoenix Children's. A continuous exhibition of professionalism, strong ethical conduct, and integrity must be carried out at all times. Interdepartmental collaboration, high standards of work performance, keeping a positive attitude and adhering to the policies and procedures of Phoenix Children's is essential. This position requires current and continuous certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (RMA) in the field of Medical Assisting or the ability to acquire within 90 days of hire. Anyone hired prior to 11/30/2021 has one year from their date of hire to obtain their required Medical Assistant Certification.
