Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Translational Neurosciences (College of Medicine-Phx)

This Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Translational Neurosciences (College of Medicine-Phx) position is with University of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. Conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research in neuroscience and genetics under the direction of the principal investigator. Develop, design, perform, and analyze experiments. Formulate research methods, develop research criteria. Performs scientific data collections, reductions, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by use of independent judgment. Maintains and creates bioinformatic analyses pipelines, including implementing AI tools, to analyse omics data on a high-computing cluster. Participates in data interpretation such as data quality control, variant interpretation and classification. Utilize good coding practices including versioning (eg. Github) and writing detailed documentation to document all data analyses pipelines. Assist with funding applications by generating preliminary data. Derive, analyze, and format data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals. Present research findings to the lab at department meetings, and at national and international symposiums. Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Foster collaborations within the Department and with other units across the University. Knowledge of coordinating experiments, and completing statistics analysis and interpretation. Ability to conduct research independently and within a team. Ability to participate at scientific conferences and present findings.
