This Program Coordinator, Peace Corps Coverdell Program (Graduate College) position is with University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.
Collaborate with various partners, both on-campus and in the community, including the UA's Peace Corps Prep and Recruiter's office, department program staff, Graduate Center staff, agency partners, and the National Peace Corps Office. Develop and manage the application process for the Coverdell Program, including applications for assistantship and internship positions with partnering agencies in the Tucson community. Coordinate application review committees, which include faculty, staff, students, and community members. Facilitate award letter acceptance and denial process. Manage the UA Graduate College Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows website and page content in collaboration with the Graduate Center. Collaborate with Graduate Center staff to create and provide social media content/posts. Coordinate and oversee various University Peace Corps events, including the annual Coverdell Fellows orientation events, the Peace Corps Fellows Fair/Poster event, and the End-of-Year Fellows meeting/social. Work with Graduate Assistants (GAs) to coordinate and attend Coverdell Service projects throughout the year. Assist and empower the Coverdell Fellows to achieve success by setting up social gatherings to create a sense of community amongst the cohort. This helps to ensure they thrive both personally and academically within the Fellows program. Serve as a primary point of contact for students and Coverdell Fellows, providing responsive support, addressing concerns, and connecting students with appropriate resources through collaboration with Graduate Center partners. Conduct regular check-ins with Fellows to monitor their progress toward Peace Corps Fellowship goals and outreach requirements, identify potential barriers to success, and coordinate support as needed to promote successful completion of their outreach goals and requirements. Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with Fellows by fostering an engaging, responsive, and supportive environment that promotes student success throughout their academic and community engagement experiences. Facilitate and complete annual GA Career Conversations with Fellows and OA site partners. Develop and implement various learning experiences and strategies, including mentoring, professional development, recruitment and outreach activities, related to both Coverdell Fellows and events put on by the Graduate College, that support all graduate students and their overall student experience. Responsible for completing annual reporting requirements to the U.S. Peace Corps Office and any other requests that come in related to Peace Corps Fellows service/outreach data. Manage all financial and operational matters associated with the Peace Corps Fellows Program. Supervise Graduate Assistants who report to this position, and are responsible for: Assisting with the recruitment and orientation of in-coming fellows. Producing and submitting the Coverdell Fellows newsletter/communications. Organizing multiple service projects. Coordination of various PC Fellows events, including the annual Peace Corps Fair/Poster event. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of UAccess Student and Financial Systems, or similar university systems. Knowledge of university fiscal policies and procedures. Knowledge of graduate student policies and procedures. Excellent organization skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. Ability to work as a member of team.
