Research Technician II - Department of Surgery

This Research Technician II - Department of Surgery position is with University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Under general supervision, perform routine laboratory experiments involving multimodal imaging of the lymphatic system. Collects and compiles research data using state-of-the-art biomedical instrumentation, assisting with analysis of multidimensional datasets using advanced signal/image processing techniques. Assist in animal studies under supervision (murine models), including husbandry, monitoring, and procedures under IACUC-approved protocols. Aid in the collection and processing of tissue, blood, and other biological samples per established protocols for histology, under supervision. Prepare reagents, media, and other supplies necessary for experiments. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper operation, calibration, and cleanliness. Support data acquisition, entry, and preliminary analysis as needed. Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments, procedures, and results in laboratory notebooks and databases, with guidance from PI. Work closely with postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and principal investigators to support ongoing projects. Attend lab meetings, journal clubs, and departmental seminars as needed. Assist with ordering and inventory management of laboratory supplies as needed. Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Knowledge of laboratory techniques (pipetting, centrifugation, microscopy, etc.). Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and follow protocols carefully. Interest and enthusiasm for lymphatic, imaging, and surgical research, as well as translational science. Knowledge of software programs, such as Matlab/Python and Office 365. Knowledge of data analysis, signal processing, statistics, bioinstrumentation.
