Respiratory Care Practitioner II Allergy and Immunology Days

This Respiratory Care Practitioner II Allergy and Immunology Days position is with Phoenix Children's in Phoenix, AZ. This Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM position offers an excellent work-life balance with no weekends or holidays, making it ideal for an experienced Respiratory Therapist seeking a rewarding clinic-based role. A key focus of this position is pulmonary function testing and supporting the quality and daily operations of respiratory services within the clinic. Key Responsibilities • Perform routine pulmonary function testing, including spirometry, lung volumes, and Exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) testing • Complete respiratory assessments and provide patient and family education • Assist with quality control procedures, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of pulmonary laboratory and diagnostic equipment • Monitor quality assurance activities and maintain accurate documentation • Participate in staff training and competency development • Support the implementation of new testing procedures and protocols • Assist with coordinating daily operations and shift activities • Collaborate with physicians, researchers, and interdisciplinary team members to support high-quality patient care and clinical initiatives Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of biological sciences and cardiopulmonary physiology sufficient to perform pulmonary function testing • Experience performing routine pulmonary function studies • Familiarity with pulmonary laboratory equipment and related diagnostic equipment • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with patients, families, providers, staff, and research personnel • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient specialty environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Required Qualifications • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) • Current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner License • Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program • Minimum one (1) year of post-graduation respiratory care experience Preferred Qualifications • Pediatric respiratory therapy experience • Outpatient Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary, or other specialty clinic experience • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience • Experience with spirometry, lung volumes, and/or Exhaled Nitric Oxide testing • Post-graduation experience in a hospital environment • Current PALS certification • American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership If you're a highly organized and independent Respiratory Therapist who enjoys patient education, pulmonary diagnostics, and interdisciplinary collaboration—and you're looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact while enjoying a predictable daytime schedule—we'd love to hear from you.
