Compensation: $45,409 to $59,031 Annually


This Secretary position is with Indian Health Service (Department of Health and Human Services) in Pinon, AZ. This position is located at Pinon Health Center, Clinical Services, Pinon, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of administrative and clerical task associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the department that would otherwise require the attention of the supervisor. The incumbent reports directly to the Clinical Director. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Key duties: • Provide clerical and administrative support to the assigned office or division. Answer telephones, greet visitors, respond to questions, and direct calls to the appropriate staff. Receive, review, sort, and distribute mail, correspondence, and other materials. Create, organize, maintain, and update paper and electronic files. Prepare letters, reports, forms, and other documents. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendars. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type or work and/or tasks: Experience in creating and managing: database, spreadsheets, graphic word processing documents, communicating effectively and interacting with a wide variety of individuals within and outside the organization, and receives and answers routine telephone inquiries. Preparing and processing a variety of documents associated with travel, timekeeping, purchases orders, etc. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
