This Security Specialist position is with U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (Department of the Army) in Fort Huachuca, AZ.
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W46908 US ARMY TEST AND EVALUATION COMMAND.
Key duties:
• Conduct periodic staff inspections to ensure compliance with intelligence regulations as they pertain to classified material and government property.
• Maintain a security and indoctrination education program, to include formal classroom training, use of guest speakers, films, posters, pamphlets, and on the job training.
• Review requests for security clearances and makes recommendations to the Deputy Director to grant, deny, revoke, suspend or restrict security clearances consistent with national security guidelines.
• Verify the security clearance status of visitors to the organization and provides clearance verification to other activities for organization visitors desiring to discuss classified matters.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the Deputy Director and all personnel on the requirements of the Army Operations Security Program.
• Emplace the necessary capabilities to manage the consequences of any type of all hazard event or terrorist attack.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Assisting higher graded security specialist(s) in administering a multi-discipline security program which included two or more of the following security disciplines: information security, personnel security, foreign disclosure, industrial security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. OR Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
