This Security Specialist position is with U.S. Army Cyber Command (Department of the Army) in Fort Huachuca, AZ.
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the NETCOM Headquarters ACofS G-2 at Fort Huachuca, AZ.
Key duties:
• Performs security inspections of the HQs and subordinate commands to include conducting security inspections, staff assistance visits, and other Information Security regulatory requirements.
• Implements the NETCOM HQs procedures for in/out-processing of personnel, including clearance verification and VAR submissions.
• Identifies investigative requirements, coordinating the initiation of background investigations with employees and the appropriate authority, reporting adverse information, and collaborating with employees on responses to Letters of Intent.
• Provides guidance to staff and subordinates on personnel security polices, processes and requests for assistance with personnel security systems.
• Assists with inspections and staff assistance visits of subordinate commands in support of the NETCOM Organization Inspection Program (OIP).
• Performs administrative duties to include DCIPS Data Administrator responsible for managing pay pool identifiers and tracking evaluations for employees, maintaining accountability of property, and serving as a training coordinator.

Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1. Applying information security principles to protect classified and sensitive information. 2. Assisting in personnel security processes, including clearance verification and support for background investigations; 3. Interpreting and applying security regulations and policies to daily operational activities; AND 4. Performing administrative functions to support security program operations. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
