Senior Complex Bank Examiner - Compliance, CG-0570-13/14

This Senior Complex Bank Examiner - Compliance, CG-0570-13/14 position is with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (Other Agencies and Independent Organizations) in Phoenix, AZ. This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP) of the Federal Insurance Deposit Corporation (FDIC). Individuals selected for this position will be assigned to work on one or more Tier III banks in the Complex Bank Supervision Program. After such assignment ends, the individual may be assigned to other duties as set forth in the Position Description. The duty location is determined upon selection. Key duties: • Leads or conducts fair lending and consumer complaint investigations involving highly sensitive or complex issues. Incumbent helps improve the Complex Bank Supervision Program (CBSP) by evaluating, providing feedback, and contributing to the implementation of CBSP policies and procedures. Develops and communicates sophisticated supervisory strategies, guiding team members through intricate and complex bank risk scenarios e.g., areas of specialized lending, complex capital markets, or significant third-party relationships. Maintains an informed position on complex bank supervision; analyzes information filed or reported in accordance with regulatory requirements or other sources; performs, and occasionally overseas activities related to reviewing, analyzing, and processing reports of examination prior to Regional Office review, and other duties of an administrative nature involving the complex banks. Coordinates with other employees, occasionally in a lead role, to perform consumer protection examination activities, including participating in examinations, targeted reviews, investigations, or analyses of complex institutions. Communicates with financial institution management, and effectively responds to or resolves their questions, complaints, and inquiries. Serves as a key point of contact for complex bank training and development activities related to complex banks and more advanced supervision concepts. Qualifications: Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-13 To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience as a Commissioned Compliance Examiner at the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning criteria performing Compliance or Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) examinations of insured depository institutions. CG-14 To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience as a Commissioned Compliance Examiner at the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning criteria conducting or directing examinations of insured depository institutions relating to consumer protection laws and regulations, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other related enforcement responsibilities involving highly sensitive or complex issues.
