This Software Engineer III (Full Stack) position is with Sprouts Farmers Market in Phoenix, AZ.
Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software architecture, integration, and development across multiple platforms and technologies. This role is crucial in ensuring that our systems work together seamlessly and efficiently, providing robust solutions that meet the growing needs of our business.
Position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule, in office Tuesday - Thursday.
Overview of Responsibilities
• Software Architecture & Design: Apply software architecture and design principles to create robust, scalable, and efficient product architectures that align with business goals.
• API Development & Integration: Lead the creation, review, and implementation of API designs/contracts (RESTful and GraphQL) across various software development teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, and business teams, to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other teams, helping to define standards, best practices, and incident management protocols.
• Technical Input: Contribute to technical roadmap and architecture discussions for own team/project, offering recommendations on tooling, technology choices, and build-vs-buy decisions within the scope of assigned systems.
• End-to-End Solutions: Design and optimize end-to-end solutions for complex systems, ensuring all components work together effectively.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure all integrations and solutions meet cybersecurity, and other regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development and integration, with a strong focus on integrations and API management.
• Enterprise Integration: Experience working with complex enterprise level integration projects.
• API & Integration: Strong experience in API design (RESTful and GraphQL), integration, and management across various platforms.
• Software Development: Proficiency in languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET or Java or Python. Working knowledge of frameworks such as Node.js is a plus.
• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure Cloud. General familiarity with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus. IaC (e.g., Terraform, Serverless framework) experience can be a plus.
• Full-Stack Development: Familiarity with full-stack development, including front-end technologies (Angular, React, HTML/CSS), CSS frameworks/preprocessors (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind, SASS), state management approaches (e.g., Redux), and build tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite) is a plus.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience in working within Agile frameworks, with the ability to lead and mentor teams in Agile best practices.
• Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests for own code, and familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, Postman) to validate API and integration functionality.
• Monitoring: Basic familiarity with application monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, App Insights, Dynatrace, Newrelic) to help identify and troubleshoot issues in own components.
• CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and ability to contribute to build/release processes for own team's components.
• Security Fundamentals: Working knowledge of authentication/authorization standards (e.g., OAuth2, SSO) and secure coding practices for handling sensitive data in APIs and integrations.
• Databases: Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries; working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL) and exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Messaging: Exposure to event-driven or message-based integration patterns (e.g., Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Kafka).
• Containerization: Basic familiarity with containerization concepts (e.g., Docker).
• Documentation: Ability to write clear technical documentation for own components, including design notes and API documentation.
• Data Pipelines: Basic understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and exposure to data pipeline/orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks) for integrating and scheduling data movement between systems.
• Data Quality: Awareness of data validation and quality-check practices when integrating or transforming data between systems.
