This Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification) position is with US Army Civilian Human Resources Agency (Department of the Army) in Fort Huachuca, AZ. About the Position: Serves as the Classification Branch Chief in a Civilian Human Resources Service Center (CHRSC). This announcement will be used to fill one position at various locations. Key duties: • Providing expert technical guidance on complex, controversial, or unprecedented classification issues. • Planning and assigning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and overseeing the training and development of subordinate HR Specialists. • Serving as the subject matter expert on classification appeal procedures, compensation strategies, and the use of automated classification tools and systems • Developing and/or implementing command-wide human resources policies and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. • Analyzing and/or resolving the most complex and sensitive issues related to position classification, organizational design, and pay administration. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing technical advisory services to management on position classification, which includes writing and evaluating position descriptions, applying OPM classification standards and/or guides to determine the correct title, series, and grade, 2) Advising managers on strategic organizational design, career path development, and/or the impact of reorganization on positions, 3) Resolving complex or controversial classification issues. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
