Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice (General Practitioner - Surgery)(Oro Valley, AZ)

This Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice (General Practitioner - Surgery)(Oro Valley, AZ) position is with University of Arizona in Oro Valley, AZ. Participate as a team member in the delivery of the pre-clinical small animal surgery simulation and live animal surgery hands on experiences. Oversee and assist students at various surgical sites to perform spays and neuters on local shelter animals as they perform different surgical roles within designated teams. Assist with the development and delivery of curriculum content to veterinary students within the UA-CVM vision of hands-on Immersive Simulation, Team-Based Learning and Peer Instruction pedagogy, in which students take substantial ownership of their learning, and didactic sessions are focused on the collaborative application of content. Participate as a team member in the design, development, and delivery of the pre-clinical small animal and/or equine/large animal clinical skills curriculum. Participate in the development and delivery of individual class sessions in other system courses and selectives. Provide reasonable out-of-classroom availability to various cohorts of veterinary students for office hours and scheduled meetings to assist students with learning. Engage in ongoing assessment and professional development aimed at the lifelong process of improving inclusive teaching and learning skills. Leading/collaborating with other UA-CVM faculty members on educational research. Engage in the CVM collegial community, the university community, and the larger global academic community through participation in shared governance, advisory committees, and academic/professional society meetings.
