This Examination Specialist (Training), CG-0570-14 position is with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (Other Agencies and Independent Organizations) in Phoenix, AZ. This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS). The Examination Specialist (Training) will be responsible for supporting the knowledge management strategy and framework of Division of Risk Management Supervision. The duty location will be determined upon selection. This position can be filled at any FDIC Regional, Field, or Headquarters office. Relocation is not authorized. The selectee will remain at their assigned duty station Key duties: • Responsible for supporting the knowledge management strategy and framework of the Division, and the development, implementation and evaluation of the Division's strategic learning plan, including making recommendations and updates. Serves as the POC for the Division's knowledge and training efforts and reviews training materials developed for various courses and either revises as needed or oversees necessary revisions to course materials. Identifies knowledge needs and gaps of Division employees through the use of various feedback mechanisms and reviews feedback on training to evaluate whether training meets intended objectives and is effective. Monitors and evaluates developments in the financial services industry to assess the potential effect of emerging issues on the Division's training needs. Develops effective and timely communication methods to inform Division personnel of the availability and content of training resources and offerings. Prepares numerous management reports and memoranda and works with Corporate University to ensure that training program data bases are maintained. Supports the semi-annual review of the Technical Evaluation question bank and coordinates with the external vendor to ensure that applicable test items are modified. Coordinates with personnel from Federal and state regulatory agencies to ensure consistency in and effective delivery of training efforts and represents the Division on various working groups and committees related to knowledge management and training. Qualifications: Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-14 To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience leading Risk Management examinations of larger or more complex insured depository institutions and evaluating financial institution safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund; and providing technical advice, counsel, and guidance to staff regarding special situations, complex examinations, enforcement matters, and/or regulatory applications of insured financial institutions.
