Research Technician

This Research Technician position is with University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Research Support Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, quantitative PCR (qPCR), flow cytometry, ELISAs, and primary cell or tissue culture following established procedures. Assist and support laboratory with preparing buffers, media cultures, primers, and processing biological specimens in accordance with project protocols. Laboratory Maintenance Maintain detailed electronic or physical laboratory notebooks. Order laboratory supplies and stock inventory. Perform sterilization and decontamination of laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials to promote a safe laboratory environment and regulatory compliance. Other Assist senior laboratory staff with data for publications and grant submissions. Train incoming staff on responsibilities, procedures and systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of RNA extraction. Knowledge of quantitative assays. Knowledge of computer-based data record keeping.
