This Secretary (Office Automation) position is with Indian Health Service (Department of Health and Human Services) in Pinon, AZ. This position is located at Chinle Service Unit, Pinon Health Center, General Service Department and Pinon, Arizona. To perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to accomplish goals and objectives of the assigned unit. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). Key duties: • Prepares routine correspondence, memoranda, and reports using office automation software based on established formats. Maintains files and records in accordance with established filing systems and records management procedures. Performs timekeeping duties, including maintaining time and attendance records and preparing corrections. Makes routine travel arrangements, initiates travel authorizations and prepares travel documentation in accordance with established procedures. Obtains and monitors of office support services, printing, maintenance and supply services. Maintains commitment register for budget and costs of accounts. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks. Examples include: performing a variety of clerical support duties. This experience would include such things as planning and carrying out the work of the office; Comprehensive knowledge of administrative activities such as timekeeping, Travel systems, Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, maintenance & disposition of records, purchasing supplies, preparation of reoccurring reports and presentations which may include complex graphs, charts and tracking program data. OR Successfully completed 4 years above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-05 grade level. Must submit transcripts. Typing Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must provide evidence of their typing proficiency of 40 words per minute typing speed based on a 5-minute sample from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates. Certificate must not be over three (3) years old and must be on a business letterhead. This agency does not accept self certifications. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
