This Security Specialist position is with U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (Department of the Army) in Fort Huachuca, AZ. About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence, Joint Center of Excellence - HUMINT, J2 Security, at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Key duties: • Maintains the Access Control System for a secure facility to ensure only properly cleared individuals are allowed access. • Reviews documentation to ensure Intrusion Detection System (IDS) specifications are adequate for physical security requirements of a specified area. • Designs and/or develops physical security plans for safeguarding classified information within current and future command facilities. • Assesses classified access eligibility to ensure perspective personnel have the required security clearance and investigation. • Provides guidance and recommendations to the Command regarding derogatory information discovered during a personnel security investigation. • Determines the adequacy of current investigations and requests additional investigations or develops other information, as needed. • Conducts Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrinations/debriefings and maintains files for all indoctrinated and debriefed personnel. • Investigates potential security violations to determine and implement appropriate preventive measures. • Provides guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests. • Ensures control measures to safeguard and prevent loss of classified material are in place and updated as required. • Ensures locally generated classified documents contain appropriate classification marking requirements. • Conducts information security briefings/trainings for serviced personnel. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Experience performing duties in one or more of the following security disciplines; Personnel, Information, Physical, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities. AND 2. Experience developing and/or implementing Security policies and procedures for a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program. AND 3. Experience providing advice to internal and external customers regarding compliance with established security policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
